Zine entitled "The Promise" - inspired by, and includes, lyrics from the song "The Promise" by one of my favorite musicians, Chris Cornell.

As the great granddaughter of two of the survivors of the Armenian Genocide, I believe it is my duty to raise awareness and make noise when the perpetrators are, to this day, actively denying their crimes against humanity. I feel so grateful to have art as a platform to do this, and so I created a mixed-media zine with illustrations and photographs as well as traditional jewelry, accessories, and embroidery that I scanned and collaged into the pages.

The motif of a pomegranate is seen frequently through the spreads as it is considered a "fruit of life" in our culture, often used to symbolize the survival of our people and rebirth after tragedy.
